Ex-SSgA Wightman launches boutique

Nigel Wightman, who quit as managing director at State Street Global Advisors days after the exit of its chief investment officer last year, has launched a fund management boutique.

The new firm - Parkfield Capital - will focus its first fund on UK small and mid-caps. The fund will be managed by Andrew McDonald, formerly of Govett, where his small-cap fund outperformed its benchmark.
