Strategic partner outflows weigh on F&C assets

F&C Asset Management saw its assets under management fall 2% to £90.1 billion in the third quarter, hit by outflows from large institutional investors

Outflows from F&C Asset Management's strategic partner clients – the largest institutional investors – reached £2.23 billion in the three months ended September, the firm said in an interim statement on Friday.

The fund manager, still in the throes of a turnaround initiated in 2011 by activist investor Edward Bramson, enjoyed net inflows from retail customers, which helped its consumer and institutional businesses achieve net inflows of £52 million in the third quarter.
