FCA announces consultation on research costs

The regulator plans to launch a consultation paper to address how investment research is paid for and how dealing commissions are spent

The Financial Conduct Authority plans to launch a consultation paper in November to address how investment research is paid for and how dealing commissions are spent, the regulator’s chief executive said today.

The news follows a Financial News report on Monday that the UK regulator was to address the issue at its annual conference for the £5.2 trillion industry.
