FCA warns on ‘very high-risk’ crypto-fundraising

The Financial Conduct Authority has become the latest to sound the alarm on fundraising in cryptocurrencies, warning investors there is a "good chance" they could losing everything in the unregulated market.

The FCA has described so-called initial coin offerings — where a startup sells tokens in exchange for cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin — as "very high-risk, speculative investments".
