First State exits private client business with Stewart Ivory sale

First State Investments has sealed the deal that signals its exit from the UK private client business.

Adam & Company, the Edinburgh-based firm which along with Coutts makes up the wealth management division of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), has confirmed that it will gain more than £450m (€704m) in assets under management from the acquisition of First State's Stewart Ivory Wealth Management.
