Fixed income drives revenues at Bear Stearns

Bear Stearns followed Lehman Brothers in posting strong results for the second quarter, thanks to a 181% rise in profits in its fixed income business.

Bear Stearns' net income rose 43% from the same period last year to $170m (€200m) from $118m a year ago.
