‘Flash Crash’ trader remanded in custody after failing to pay bail

US authorities accuse trader of making $40 million through manipulation of futures market

Navinder Singh Sarao, the UK trader alleged to have made $40 million though manipulation of the US futures markets, has been remanded in custody after failing to pay £5 million ($7.7 million) in bail.

Sarao, 36, was brought into a packed courtroom at Westminster Magistrates Court in central London on Wednesday morning, wearing a worn looking grey sweater and jogging pants.
