Ford raises record $4.5bn from convertible bond

Ford, the US motor company, is raising the largest amount of proceeds ever from a convertible bond after increasing the size of its deal to about $4.5bn (€5.1bn).

At the start of January, Ford said it expected to sell $3bn of convertible bonds. Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and Salomon Smith Barney are leading the offer.
