International investors turned their backs on the US equities markets in the first half of 2002, but showed heightened interest in the US bond markets, according to a new report.

Non-US investors invested $58bn (€59bn) in US stocks in the first six months of the year - down 50% on the figure one year earlier according to the Securities Industry Institute, the US trade body.
