Former Instinet exec launches peer-to-peer securities lending service

A financial technology firm set up by a former Instinet fixed income chief has launched a marketplace where institutions such as pensions and insurance companies can lend securities directly to hedge funds.

Aquila Network will be the first ever peer-to-peer securities lending platform, according to a statement from its owner SBL Network.
