Xavier Rolet, who left the London Stock Exchange under strained circumstances in November, was paid £5.6m for his final 11 months as chief executive.

Rolet announced his decision to exit the LSE last October after almost 10 years in charge. He left a month later in the wake of a high-profile boardroom battle over the future leadership of the iconic City institution.
