Former UBS employee sentenced to three years for insider trading

The 11-week trial against the ex-UBS compliance officer and the day trader was brought by the FCA

A former compliance officer at UBS and a day trader have been found guilty of insider trading and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.

Fabiana Abdel-Malek, who worked at the Swiss bank’s investment arm in London, was found guilty of passing on information to her family friend Walid Choucair, a day trader, using unregistered pay-as-you-go mobile phones.
