Founder stands down as Legg Mason president

Chip Mason is standing down as president of the US asset management company he founded. He will remain chairman of the board and chief executive.

Jim Hirshmann, president and chief executive of Legg Mason's $520bn (€434bn) bond manager, Western Asset, will replace him as president in two months.
