Four banks make history with GE's $3.8bn share sale

JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have completed a record US accelerated offering, selling $3.8bn (€3.1bn) worth of new shares in General Electric (GE).

The banks sold 119.4 million shares in just eight hours, with the price set at $31.83, a discount of nearly 3% on Friday's closing price.
