Frank Russell Company has launched a fund-of-hedge funds six months after hiring hedge fund expert Derek Doupe from European investment consultancy William M Mercer.

The Alternative Strategies fund, available to investors outside the US, is diversified across a number of strategies. The move comes as a host of money managers start offering hedge fund investments in a bid to encourage still largely hesistant European pension funds of improved returns and diversity.
