Franklin Templeton pays $18m to settle California lawsuit

Franklin Templeton, the US mutual fund manager, has agreed to pay $18m (€14m) to settle charges of marketing support payments.

The settlement with the California attorney general's office on Wednesday ends a lawsuit claiming that the fund distributor paid broker-dealers to recommend and sell its mutual funds.
