Sonal Desai, the new fixed-income investment chief at US fund manager Franklin Templeton, has taken on a raft of new frontline fund-management responsibilities, following her promotion in September.

Desai will be named as a co-manager on seven of the company’s flagship bond funds, the company confirmed in a statement on December 3.
