Fund manager Azimut enters the market for private equity stakes

Milan-based investment group recruits a former executive at Neuberger Berman unit Dyal

European asset manager Azimut is adding its name to the growing list of investors that acquire stakes in private capital firms.

The Milan-based firm, which manages about $65bn in assets, has launched Azimut Alternative Capital Partners and tapped former Dyal Capital Partners executive Jeffry Brown to lead the new unit as chief executive.
