Fund managers need to employ more effective methods to gain better insight into companies' socially responsible investment (SRI) policies, according to environmental consultancy ERM.

With new Government regulations due to come into force on July 3, fund managers are under increased pressure from their trustees to formalise their policies on environmental, social and ethical issues in their Statement of Investment Principles (SIP).
