Generali plans €2.7bn for private equity

Generali Group, the Italian insurer, has set up a fund of private equity funds in Luxembourg seeded with €175m ($220m) of its own money. It plans to increase that amount to €2.7bn over time.

Ten insurance companies within the Generali group, among them four French investors and Generali Austria, have already invested in the fund.
