German medical firm launches healthy IPO

A second German company has defied the dismal European new issues market and posted a strong first-day performance on its stock exchange debut.

Shares in Mediclin, a German medical services company, rose as much as 10% above the issue price when it launched its initial public offering (IPO) on Frankfurt's Smax market for small-cap companies.
