Bank of America Merrill Lynch has landed advisory roles on two multibillion-dollar M&A transactions involving the pharmaceuticals giant GlaxoSmithKline — big wins for a bank that has struggled in the European deal tables this year.

BAML is working as the sole adviser to Angl0-Dutch consumer goods group Unilever on its €3.3bn ($3.7bn) purchase of GSK’s consumer nutrition business.
