Goldman and CSFB face US Congress probe

The US House Financial Services Committee has broadened its investigation into questionable investment banking practices to include Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Congressman Michael Oxley has written to John Mack, chief executive of Credit Suisse First Boston, and Hank Paulson, chief executive of Goldman Sachs requesting information on initial public offerings and relationships between analysts and bankers.
