Goldman appoints from US government

Goldman Sachs has hired a former US assistant secretary of state to run its global philanthropic efforts.

Dina Habib Powell will be joining the investment bank as director of corporate engagement, a new position that will spearhead the firm's global charitable initiatives, a Goldman spokesman said.
