Goldman Sachs has two of its most senior M&A bankers advising on CVC Capital Partners' sale of Formula One, with a potential takeover of the motor racing franchise marking an end to years of work for the advisers.

CVC is close to selling its 35% stake in the racing franchise, according to people familiar with the matter, with a sale to the US media giant by Liberty Media possible as early as this week.
