Goldman hires bankruptcy specialist

Goldman Sachs has recruited bankruptcy specialist James Sprayregen from law firm Kirkland & Ellis into its investment banking division. The move signals growing unease over a possible increase in the number of companies defaulting on debt repayments.

Sprayregen, who was previously the head of Kirkland's bankruptcy practice, will work with New York-based managing director Dhruv Narain in a specialist financing group that advises companies facing possible bankruptcy.
