Goldman's Bell to co-head consumer brands

HSBC has hired Scott Bell from Goldman Sachs to jointly lead the investment bank's global push into the consumer brands sector.

Bell, a managing director in Goldman's European investment banking division, is set to join in June and will co-head the team alongside Doug Stolberg, head of corporate and institutional banking for North America at HSBC, who will transfer from New York to the UK. Bell was part of a group of five who left Schroders for Goldman in 2000, when the UK bank was bought by Citigroup.
