Government may pay out £500 to individuals who test positive for Covid-19

The payments could cost up to £453m a week

The government is reportedly considering paying £500 to everyone in England who tests positive for Covid-19.

The proposal is designed to combat poor compliance with self-isolation and testing which the government fears is being driven by worries over the financial impact of long periods in quarantine.
