Government’s coronavirus fund for start-ups should be closed, says Jon Moulton

The private equity veteran gave evidence to Parliament’s Treasury Committee on the economic impact of Covid-19

Private equity veteran Jon Moulton has told MPs that the government’s Covid-19 support package for start-up businesses is “badly flawed” and should be shut down.

Moulton, who is the chair of financial services advisory firm finnCap, criticised the Future Fund — a £500m government package designed for start-ups and innovative firms — during an evidence session before Parliament’s Treasury Committee on 17 June.
