Governor Draghi banks $2m

Mario Draghi has banked $2m (€1.6m) from selling shares in Goldman Sachs after leaving the US bank to become governor of the Bank of Italy last week.

Draghi, who was vice-chairman of Goldman Sachs International, the US bank's non-US business, since 2002, filed to sell 15,495 shares in his former employer on January 11, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
