Corporate bonds go green

Swedish bank SEB is helping a Swedish property company to raise one of the first corporate bonds in the environmental-finance market

Vasakronan, a Swedish property group, is to issue €145 million's worth of "green" corporate bonds, becoming one of the first private companies to tap the capital markets for environmentally-friendly financing.

The aim is to tap into demand from institutional investors, such as pension funds, for environmentally-friendly investments that could allow it to borrow more cheaply.
