Hands signs a €100m pledge to ignite new fundraising

Guy Hands, one of the UK's most successful buy-out financiers, will invest €100m ($120m) with his Terra Firma private equity team in its latest fund. He hopes to raise at least €3bn for new investments.

Details of Hands' big personal investment were revealed in a letter to investors that accompanied a draft private placement memorandum, which provides information on Hands' Terra Firma group record and strategy for the new fund.
