Head of commodities regulator takes US government job

The head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission appointed by President George W Bush two years ago is leaving to take a position with the US State Department.

Reuben Jeffrey became chairman of the CFTC in July 2005. The CFTC is the US regulatory body for commodities exchanges.
