Heads of Italy and Rome quit Lazard

Lazard confirmed today that Arnaldo Borghesi, who heads its Italian business, has resigned. Banking sources close to the US-quoted investment bank said Roberto Tamburini, in charge of the Rome office, has also tendered his resignation.

Investment industry sources said Borghesi's resignation will be a serious blow to Lazard. One said: "He will really be missed because he brought in about 40% of their deals in Italy."
