Hedge fund investment doubles in first quarter

The amount of money flowing into hedge funds worldwide more than doubled in the first quarter of this year compared with the final quarter of last year, according to a new survey from LJH Global Investments, the US based consultancy.

The survey suggests that the surge in interest is based partly on the fact that the war in Iraq appears to have been won in an relatively short time frame and that earnings, while not strong, are surprisingly upbeat.
