A prominent hedge fund manager has lost a legal battle with the UK tax authority over millions of pounds he held in a controversial tax avoidance scheme.

A UK court dismissed a second attempt by Patrick Degorce, chief investment officer at hedge fund company Theleme Partners, to overturn a tax tribunal ruling that found he had attempted to shelter millions of pounds in a film financing scheme.
