Hedge fund Paulson & Co to close London office — report

Renowned hedge fund manager said in January he may convert his firm to a family office in the next couple of years

Billionaire investor John Paulson, who made his fortune with bets against the US housing market in the run-up to the 2008 financial crisis, is reportedly to close down his London office.

The firm has been downsizing its City-headquartered European operation since 2016, and its last remaining partner, Orkun Kilic, has now left, the Financial Times reports. Kilic’s exit was revealed in a regulatory filing at Companies House on June 18.
