Hermes cleared of South Korean charges

Hermes Investment Management was this morning cleared of stock manipulation charges by a South Korean court following five months of legal proceedings, vindicating its decision to fight the allegations at a full trial rather than settle.

The UK asset manager had been facing a Won7.3bn (€6.1m) fine from the prosecutor over charges that it profited from comments made to a local paper by its former manager in South Korea, Robert Clements.
