Trading Places: António Horta-Osório heads to Mediobanca, ex-Goldman CFO Chavez joins Alphabet board

One of the biggest figures in banking reemerged with a new role this week. Italy's Mediobanca hired Sir António Horta-Osório as an adviser, the first role for the Portuguese banker since his departure from Credit Suisse.

Horta-Osório left the Swiss bank after just nine months as chair on the back breaking Covid rules when he attended major sporting events. He has now been given a remit to boost Mediobanca's corporate and investment banking business alongside co-heads Francisco Bachiller and Giuseppe Baldelli.
