Houlihan Lokey launches European equity advisory unit

New divisional head admits Europe was a ‘barren wasteland’ for deals in 2019, but says 2020 is already looking up

Houlihan Lokey has launched an equity advisory business in Europe, pitting the ambitious mid-market investment bank against bigger competitors at a time when revenues from equity capital markets work are in decline across the industry.  

The US-headquartered bank has appointed former Rothschild investment banker William Marshall to head a new European equity capital markets advisory unit, and is “actively hiring” for the new division, he told Financial News
