Since Margaret Franklin arrived at the CFA Institute four-and-a-half-years-ago as its new chief executive, a raft of changes have been made to bring the 77-year-old organisation up to date.

The first woman to take on the top job, Franklin had to react quickly to criticism that the CFA Program — a three-part exam that includes some of the most rigorous assessments for finance professionals — was losing its appeal.
