HSBC has postponed its summer recruitment of university graduates because of uncertainty over the ongoing Covid-19 crisis — the first large bank forced into such a move.

The bank has told all full-time analyst hires due to start in July that they will have to begin their roles later this year because of the “challenges that we face globally” over coronavirus, a spokesman said.
