HSBC hires five analysts to cover smaller UK companies

Hires come as larger banks assess their commitment to small and mid-cap coverage under Mifid II

HSBC has recruited five analysts to cover smaller UK-listed stocks. The hires come amid an expected decrease in research reports on small and mid-cap companies under new European trading rules.

The UK bank said on November 11 that Mike Tyndall, a senior autos analyst at Citigroup, has joined to focus on mid-cap industrials and industrial technology stocks.
