The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales has been reprimanded by the Insolvency Service for failing to monitor an insolvency practitioner who absconded with £4m in estate funds.

The ICAEW acts as both a representative body for accountants and as a regulator for accountants and insolvency practitioners.
