Icahn struggles to meet $3bn target

Carl Icahn, the veteran US corporate raider, is struggling to raise his stated target of $3bn (€2.3bn) for Icahn Partners, the hedge fund he launched last year, with US investors committing just $400m to date, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Icahn, rated the 26th wealthiest person in the US by Forbes magazine, has put $300m of his own money into the fund according to the SEC filing.
