IHS Markit agrees $1.8bn deal for US data provider

IHS Markit has agreed to buy a US financial technology firm from Blackstone and Goldman Sachs for almost $2bn.

The London-based data provider said in a statement that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire New York-headquartered Ipreo for $1.85bn from alternatives giant Blackstone and Goldman Sachs's merchant banking division.
