IMA voices concern over short-selling

The Investment Management Association (IMA), the UK industry body, has expressed concern over the levels of disclosure of short selling put forward in a discussion paper by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

The IMA said identifying houses that are actively shorting would increase the risk of taking short positions, which could then hinder the proper functioning of the market.
