In brief: Newton departure/Citibank pay-off/SSgA performance

Veritas Asset Management, a subsidiary of the UK investment boutique Real Return Holdings Company, has hired James Harries as fund manager from Newton Investment Management. Harries will run a range of institutional and private client funds, and establish a new income fund. He joins on 5 July, reporting to Charles Richardson, chief executive of Veritas UK. At Newton, Harries managed the Newton Falcon fund and was responsible for pension funds, charities and private clients.
