In brief: Pimco wins/Newton loses/Northern Trust gains

Pimco has won a $100m (€81m) global inflation-linked bond mandate for Compagnia di San Paolo, an Italian non-profit foundation with €6.4bn ($7.9bn) in assets. Last year the organisation awarded Pimco a €100m European bond mandate. PeterPaul Pardi, Pimco's head of business development for Southern Europe said that 2003 was a very good year as funds in the region grew by over 70% to $1.9bn.
