UBS' head of investment banking Andrea Orcel and a team of FIG bankers he hired from former employer Bank of America Merrill Lynch last year, this week landed a €3 billion rights issue mandate from Italian lender Monte dei Paschi.
The Swiss bank was named as financial adviser to Monte dei Paschi and will act as global co-ordinator and bookrunner on the rights issue due to launch in mid-January next year.
